Bad news for the handful of us who actually love HBO’s Looking. After two fun and colorful, but low-rated seasons, HBO has officially canceled the show. However, the way they still gave Stephen Merchant’s Hello Ladies an official farewell in the form of a separate finale special, Looking will get a similar send-off. Here is HBO’s statement:
“After two years of following Patrick and his tight-knit group of friends as they explored San Francisco in search of love and lasting relationships, HBO will present the final chapter of their journey as a special. We look forward to sharing this adventure with the shows loyal fans.”
So, Patrick’s story isn’t over just yet, but we will be saying goodbye at some point. No news yet on when that movie is set to premiere, but because the second season just ended on Sunday, it could be a while before we hear about an official date. Such a bummer for a sweet show that just had no traction.
