New Girl isn’t returning to the Fox schedule until early 2016, and when it does, it’s going to look a little different. For one thing, Zooey Deschanel was pregnant while filming this season, so expect a lot more globes in the loft. Also, and possibly related to the first item, six episodes in, Jess “will find herself on sequestered jury duty” and be conveniently absent for an unknown amount of time. At which point, the newly single Megan Fox will rent out her room.
Her character, Reagan, is described as a “gorgeous, straight-shooting pharmaceutical sales rep who comes to town on business and shakes things up in the loft.” A straight-shooter named after a Republican president? Sounds like Schmidt’s dream gal. And she hangs out with talking turtles who love pizza? Sounds like Nick’s dream gal, too.
“It’s insane to me that such a gorgeous person can be so funny, but I guess we just all have to accept it,” said executive producer Liz Meriwether. “I’ve been a fan of her comedic skills since This is 40, and I’m so excited to have her on the show. We had Megan in mind when we wrote this part – she’s the perfect person to come in and shake these guys up.” (Via)
