This weekend, Melissa McCarthy will become only the fifth woman to enter SNL‘s “Five-Timers Club.” Candice Bergen was the first to accomplish the feat, followed by Drew Barrymore, former “Weekend Update” anchor Tina Fey, and Scarlett Johansson. Of course, McCarthy has been on SNL more than five times: Saturday will be her fourth appearance this season alone. The Gilmore Girls star has become as much an unofficial member of the cast as Alec Baldwin, thanks to her fiery Sean Spicer impression. In fact, Spicey’s debut is the most-watched sketch of all-time, according to the show’s YouTube page.
To prepare for her hosting duties, McCarthy has been “watching and observing” President Donald Trump’s press secretary, trying and failing to join musical guest Haim, and on Friday, riding around midtown Manhattan. According to CNN’s Brian Stelter, SNL was seen taping outside of the CNN building this morning, with McCarthy scooting around on on her motorized podium while screaming something unintelligible about fake news, probably.
Imagine getting off the subway, walking to work, and seeing this.

Earlier in the week, McCarthy announced that she’s coming to SNL “straight out da bushes,” a reference to Spicer reportedly hiding in the bushes to avoid questions about former-FBI director James Comey.
