It’s hard to imagine a network picking up a TV series like Gilmore Girls these days. Thank God Netflix isn’t your ordinary television network, though.
The mega-popular streaming service is bringing back Gilmore Girls, with creator Amy Sherman-Palladino and quite possibly the original cast. That’s right – that means Lorelei and Rory Gilmore will probably be back to walk and fast-talk their way to Luke’s diner on your computer screens!
According to TV Line, the limited season will consist of four 90-minute episodes or “mini movies.” And the point, apparently, of this revival is to give Sherman-Palladino the opportunity to end the series the way she intended, before she had to leave the show before its seventh season because of a contract dispute.
That’s right, we’ll finally get to hear those famous last four words!!!
Anyway. Lauren Graham, Alexis Bledel, Kelly Bishop, and Scott Patterson are “expected back for the continuation” (RIP Ed Herrmann), TV Line says. We also better see Michel and Paris.
No word, of course, on plot points yet. I’m hoping that the series picks up in modern times, so that I can hear quippy references to Keeping Up with the Kardashians and selfies. I’m also morbidly curious to see how then-aspiring newspaper reporter Rory Gilmore is faring in the industry today.
