“Justified” has cast two veteran character actors as the new villains for Season 3: Neal McDonough (“Band of Brothers,” Captain America) and Mykelti Williamson (Con Air, “24,” and, of course, Bubba in Forrest Gump). Both actors worked with “Justified” showrunner Graham Yost on the acclaimed but short-lived “Boomtown.”
McDonough will recur as Quarles, a Detroit mobster in a sharp suit who comes to Kentucky with visions of becoming a crimelord. Williamson will play Limehouse, a man who lives in a small black town in Harlan County and who will do whatever it takes, legal or otherwise, to protect his holler.
We’ll meet both characters early in season 3, which premieres in January. The show began production on the first of 13 new episodes Monday. [EW]
So wait, the criminal from Detroit is the white guy, and the guy living in the Kentucky backwoods is the black dude? Did I read that right? I guess I’ll go with it as long as I get to see Timothy Olyphant shirtless in the first episode. I mean Natalie Zea. I’m perfectly straight. Olyphant’s rugged handsomeness and sly charm have no effect on me.
