Nicole Richie appeared on Andy Cohen’s Watch What Happens Live Tuesday night to promote, I don’t know, probably some reality TV thing or something — when a call in viewer asked when the last time she spoke or texted with Paris Hilton or Lindsay Lohan was. Now we all know Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie grew up together and used to be BFFs appearing on The Simple Life, but what most people don’t remember is that Nicole Richie and Lindsay Lohan were also pretty close friends during the mid-aughts, as well. Seriously, when I searched for photos of the two of them together on Getty it returned almost 400 results. The two used to hang out during Nicole Richie’s crazy hot mess party days, but then Nicole Ritchie got her sh*t together and had some kids, and Lindsay Lohan … Well, we all know what happened there.
So when Nicole Richie answered the first part about Paris Hilton very, very diplomatically, along the lines of, it doesn’t matter how often you talk if someone is your true friend and I have so much love and respect for Paris and her family and blah, blah, blah — I was like, yeah right, those two totally hate each other. Now I’m not so sure, though, because Richie wasn’t quite so effusive when following up about Lohan. I don’t want to spoil it, but I’ll say this: Nicole Richie has got good comic timing.
