Now that Fear the Walking Dead has wrapped up its improved, but baffling second season, it’s time to start counting down the days until The Walking Dead season seven premieres. Because that’s the day the planet explodes.
Earlier today, notorious-licker Norman Reedus dropped by Entertainment Weekly Radio to talk about his new AMC series, Ride with Norman Reedus, and to tell fans of The Walking Dead to chill with questions about who Negan killed. How often has he been asked that? “Probably about a zillion times.” Would he want to know the answer if he wasn’t on the show? “I don’t like spoilers, to be honest… I like the enthusiasm behind everyone wanting to know, but it’s a good feeling to have that enthusiasm, so let’s hold onto it.”
As for season seven, which debuts sometime in October:
“Trust me. I think probably the planet is going to explode. That’s my feeling. It’s so good. Every time we go on a promotional tour talking about what’s going to come, we all say ‘Oh my God, it’s amazing. I can’t wait for you to see it.’ But it continually surprises me how this show grows and is put together and the execution of it – no pun intended. It blows my mind. It just continually reaches a new plateau every single time, and this is the highest plateau we’ve ever been. So just wait. It’s worth the wait, trust me.”
That’s right: The Walking Dead is the Death Star, and Earth is Alderaan. At least the planet exploding means we won’t have to argue about Negan again.
