A couple of weeks ago the woman who was the face of the much-maligned Obamacare website disappeared from the site. This is what it looks like now.
Naturally, many have wondered where she went and why she disappeared, but she was apparently difficult to track down because the photo the Obama administration used was a stock photo that didn’t have a name of a model attached to it. So she, and why she disappeared from the site, was a bit of a mystery. Until now, that is, as ABC News has managed to track down. And, sadly, the reason she’s no longer on the site is a predictable one: she was cyberbullied by anti-Obamacare wingnuts.
“I mean, I don’t know why people should hate me because it’s just a photo,” the woman named Adriana (she didn’t provide her full name out of fear of further harassment) told ABC News. “I didn’t design the website. I didn’t make it fail, so I don’t think they should have any reasons to hate me.” She added: “Like I said it was shocking. It was upsetting. It was sad…I’m glad that my son is not old enough to understand, because you know whatever happens to you, it hurts them too.”
According to ABC, the woman has “lived legally in the U.S. for more than six years, is currently a permanent resident and is applying for citizenship.” Here’s the interview they ran with her on GMA this morning…
