People really don’t like Jason Biggs’ character Larry in Orange Is the New Black. I’m pressed to think of another character as universally reviled as Larry (Pete Campbell, maybe?), who the hate burns so strong for that he’s even inspired countless memes, Wikipedia hacking, and even his own catchphrase — “F*cking Larry.”
Fans of the series can rejoice because, according to TheWrap, Season 3 of Orange Is the New Black will be blessedly, mercifully be a Larry-free zone.
“American Pie” alum Biggs announced his absence via the New York Daily News, noting: “They’re not focusing on Larry at the moment … Larry will not be in Season 3.”
Biggs did note, however, that “there’s always a chance that he can come back” in future seasons.
A spokesperson for Netflix confirmed that Biggs won’t appear in the upcoming season, which has wrapped filming.
I guess it makes sense, now that Larry and Piper are officially over, and he’s boning her best friend — I’m sorry, former best friend — there’s really not anything for him to do. I don’t really see the point in the Polly and Larry breast milk hour. Still… I’m relieved, but at the same time, I’m also a little bit sad. Part of the fun of OITNB is hating Larry because he’s just so damn fun to hate. Overall, it’s still probably for the best.
