Austin “Chumlee” Russell from the History channel’s Pawn Stars was arrested at his Las Vegas home Wednesday afternoon, after a police search warrant investigating an alleged sexual assault turned up drugs and weapons. Russell has yet to be booked on any sexual assault charges, but according to a spokesperson for the Las Vegas Police Department, the investigation is still ongoing and he is still considered a suspect in the case.
Austin Lee Russell, 33, was taken into custody when officers serving a search warrant in a sexual assault investigation found methamphetamine, marijuana and at least one gun at his southwest Las Vegas home, police said in a statement.
Russell was being held pending an initial court appearance on 19 drug-possession charges and one weapon charge, according to Clark County Detention Center records. His bail was set at $62,000.
For those unfamiliar with the series, Pawn Stars takes place at the family-operated Gold & Silver Pawn Shop on Las Vegas Boulevard. Chumlee works alongside his childhood friend Corey “Big Hoss” Harrison, whose father and grandfather co-own the store. The reality series just wrapped up airing season 12 last month, so it’s unknown what this could mean for future episodes, or Russell’s continuing involvement in the series.
