Like pretty much anything involving superheroes, NBC’s new DC Universe workplace comedy Powerless will be a part of San Diego Comic-Con, which means the show has revealed its Comic-Con poster. And it’s a pretty good one! Check it out below.
Everybody’s looking pretty dynamic, which is to be expected, as the poster was designed by legendary comic artist Neal Adams. But wait a second, what’s Ron Funches doing on there? Previously there’s been no indication Funches was a part of the show (he was nowhere to be seen in the trailer), but apparently NBC has added him to the cast at the last second. NBC did just cancel Funches’ old day job in Undateable, so it’s a good guess they decided they wanted to lock the talented comedian’s services down. According to Entertainment Weekly, Funches will be playing the easy-going office IT guy, who somehow hasn’t lost his childlike enthusiasm for DC’s mayhem-causing meta humans.
In addition to Funches, Powerless also stars Vanessa Hudgens, Alan Tudyk, Danny Pudi and Christina Kirk, who all work at Retcon Insurance (clever), a company that provides protection against the damage caused by superhero brawls. It’s a smart concept, and with Funches aboard, the show has just added an extra layer of funny.
Powerless is expected to debut on NBC in early 2017.
