Aside from his contributions to AMC with The Walking Dead and the upcoming sister-series Fear The Walking Dead, Robert Kirkman has been keeping quite busy with another small-screen project for Cinemax. Earlier this year, it was announced that Kirkman’s exorcism-themed drama, Outcast, was officially a go at the premium cable network.
It’s been a while since we had new details on the show’s cast, and now, according to Deadline, six new actors have been added to the series including The Office‘s David Denman and Star Trek: TNG‘s Brent Spiner:
David Denman (13 Hours), Melinda McGraw (Mad Men), Grace Zabriskie (The Killing), Catherine Dent (The Shield), Lee Tergesen (The Americans) and Brent Spiner have been cast opposite Patrick Fugit and Philip Glenister in the 10-episode series based on the Skybound/Image comic title by Kirkman and artist Paul Azaceta.
Denman will play the husband to the sister of exorcist Kyle Barnes (Patrick Fugit), who seemingly isn’t down with the man’s demonic misgivings. Most of the other new additions to the cast — aside from murder suspect Blake Morrow (played by Lee Tergesen) — are kooky members of a place called “Rome’s Light of God Baptist Church.”
As for Mr. Spiner, no details have officially been announced regarding his role in the project. So, right now, I’m just going to assume he’ll be playing a quirky android with demonic tendencies or maybe a mentally unstable preacher plagued with demon-style quirks…or, you know, something kinda…demonic and quirky?
Yeah, I got nothing.
