Bay area news station KTVU is the new Moe’s Tavern, apparently. Yes, that station really did report this afternoon that the pilots of of the doomed Asiana flight 214 were named “Sum Ting Wong,” “Wi Tu Lo,” “Ho Lee Fuk,” and “Bang Ding Ow.”

Now, if you thought this couldn’t be any worse, well you were WRONG! That’s because an NTSB official actually confirmed those names to the station as being the names of the actual pilots, according to an all-caps statement put out by the station.
EARLIER IN THE NEWSCAST WE GAVE SOME NAMES OF PILOTS INVOLVED IN THE ASIANA AIRLINES CRASH. THESE NAMES WERE NOT ACCURATE DESPITE AN N-T-S-B OFFICIAL IN WASHINGTON CONFIRMING THEM LATE THIS MORNING. WE APOLOGIZE FOR THIS ERROR.
