SNL is bringing back all the comedy greats for their 40th anniversary special, which airs February 15th. There’s the previously announced Derek Jeter and Taylor Swift and Peyton Manning, and now someone who’s provided even more laughs than Tina Fey over the years, Sarah Palin.
SNL producer Lorne Michaels invited Palin to return to the show and the former Alaska governor accepted, a source close to Palin confirms.
PEOPLE hears that Palin will return to SNL‘s 30 Rock studios bearing gifts – three “Alaska Grown” hoodie sweatshirts for Fey and her two little girls. (Via)
This special is either going to be an amazing success or a spectacular bomb. If NBC wants to play it safe, they can skip the sketches and go right to the closing credits, if only because I want to see Palin, Swift, Kanye West, and Bill Murray awkwardly make small-talk for 90 minutes.
