We’re less than two months away from the premiere of Preacher, the new series from Seth Rogen and Adam Goldberg on AMC that’s based on the ’90s comic book smash. A trailer and some character reveals have already been made but Friday brought us the introduction to another member of the Preacher universe, the aptly named Arseface.

Arseface, played by Ian Colletti, is really named Eugene Root. But a failed suicide attempt left him severely disfigured, hence the not very nice nickname. Arseface is fiercely devoted to the comic and series’s main character, local preacher Jessie Custer, played by Dominic Cooper.
When Preacher premiered at SXSW, Rogen told the assembled panel that Arseface’s grisly look was all prosthetics.
“We could never afford that in CGI – it’s a prosthetic rig. That poor little f—er has to wear that s–t on his face. He has a positive attitude about it, but I know it f—ing sucks. He (Colletti) can emote a lot even with the thing on his face.”
Preacher’s pilot was directed by Rogen and Goldberg and the showrunner and executive producer is Breaking Bad’s Sam Catlin. The series, which co-stars Lucy Griffiths, Ruth Negga and Joseph Gilgun, hits your TV screens on May 22 at 10 p.m.
