McDonald’s is struggling, inasmuch as a #brand worth $92.5 billion can be considered “struggling.” CNBC reported in July that the Golden Arches’ sales fell in the second quarter by 0.7 percent, while competitors Arby’s and Burger King rose in the same time period.
An analyst summed thing up: “It seems like [McDonald’s is] the only big player doing negative numbers, period. They’re in a healthy market but they’re not participating in that market.” Other, less Minions-orientated chains, like In-N-Out and Shake Shack, are flipping better burgers in McDonald’s territory, and they don’t have the same market saturation that they used to.
