From the People’s Champion to the people’s choice.
In a profile that came out this week, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson told GQ that it’s a “real possibility” that he’ll run for president in 2020. The Moana star, who has better odds at winning than our current president, even debuted a potential campaign slogan on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon: “More poise, less noise.” Who wouldn’t vote for The Rock, who sees it as a “great opportunity to help people,” especially with Tom Hanks as his running mate?
During the season finale of SNL, Johnson announced, “I just want to say once and for all, I’m in. Starting tonight, I’m running for the president of the United States.” Not only that, but the host picked another member of the Five-Timers’ Club, America’s Dad (sorry, Alec Baldwin), to be his veep. “Dwayne, I could not possibly turn this down,” Hanks said. “The truth is, America really needs us. I have been in two movies where a plane crashes, and people are still happy to see me on their flight. Together, we would get one hundred percent of the vote. I would get the senior vote because I fought in World War II in, like, ten different movies.” Meanwhile, The Rock would get the minority vote, “because everyone just assumes that I’m, well, whatever they are.”
Meanwhile, John Cena and Ben Affleck are out there plotting their next move.
America, I hear you.
