Over South Park‘s 19 seasons, there have been a ton of guest stars. And unlike an episode of Entourage, you’d barely know a lot of them were there. The stars rarely play themselves and might only voice a cat or a dog. Let’s take a look at some of the biggest cameos and ask ourselves, “Who’s the best guest star?”
George Clooney voiced multiple characters in the series and movie, including Sparky the dog, before being the butt of the joke in the “Smug Alert” episode. Jay Leno has played a cat and Jerry Seinfeld almost played a turkey. (Yes, the show has more than just animal voices available to guest stars.) Bill Hader guest starred twice and even became a full-time writer after leaving SNL. Cheech and Chong, Bill Hader, Sia as the 45-year-old Lorde … the list goes on and on.
A personal favorite is when Radiohead appeared as themselves in “Scott Tenorman Must Die,” which led to a pretty great Batman The Killing Joke reference. PewDiePie, famed YouTube legend, also appeared as the BIGGEST CELEBRITY CAMEO EVER. Sometimes the cameos sans-real guest stars actually tick the targeted celeb off as the show has caused many beefs over its 256 episodes.
Who’s been your favorite South Park guest star? And who do you hope to hear in future episodes (maybe as a lizard or a babbling brook)?
