Cable viewers usually go to TNT for drama, CNN for news, Cartoon Network for cartoons, and TBS for comedy. However, not everything these networks put out is a guaranteed success, which means the hammer has to be dropped sometimes. Today’s hammer belongs to TBS and its now-cancelled sitcom, Ground Floor.
TBS is going for a clean slate, canceling all of its returning original comedies over the past several months, including Men at Work, Sullivan & Son, Ground Floor as well as transplant Cougar Town. Coming up are new half-hour series Buzzy’s, Angie Tribecaand Your Family Or Mine. (via Deadline)
Currently, the network’s late-night slate remains strong thanks to Conan, but has failed to really gain traction among prime-time viewers outside of Cougar Town. With a new slate of projects, TBS hopes to cement its programming brand the way TNT and Cartoon Network have during the last half decade.
