With the show no longer filming in Croatia, Belfast has become the go-to locale for spotting Game of Thrones stars. Kit Harrington has been photographed there, leading to breathless reports about his hair, as have Isaac H. Wright, Dean-Charles Chapman, and Nell Tiger Free. The latest cast member to show up in Ireland is one many viewers thought dead.
This is the part where I say spoilers, you’ve been warned, etc. etc. etc.
Sandor “The Hound” Clegane hasn’t been seen since the end of season four, when Arya left him for dead, blooded and bruised, following a fight with Brienne. His fate, as it is in the books (unless you subscribe to the gravedigger theory), was left unknown, but, according to Watchers on the Wall, the actor who plays the Hound, Rory McCann, was spotted in Belfast.
I’ve heard from a source whom I trust, who has provided us reliable information going back several years, that Rory McCann was seen recently staying at a hotel in Belfast commonly used by HBO and Game of Thrones cast members during filming. Currently, McCann has no other projects scheduled, or any other reason to be in Belfast that we’re aware of. (Via)
Game of Thrones will air on HBO for at least three more seasons, and possibly much longer than that, but it can’t end until we get a duel between the Clegane brothers, one of whom is basically a zombie. Jon Snow maybe not being dead is good; the Hound vs. the Mountain is GREAT.
