Saying you watch Californication for Hank Moody’s leathery retorts and the way he doesn’t play by THE MAN’s rules is akin to revealing you read Playboy for the articles. No one believes you. Unless there’s a giant Runkle (sounds like the name of a cancer; “I’m sorry, sir, but you have a giant runkle and have three months to live”) fanbase I’m not aware of, Showtime’s most boob-filled comedy is still on the air after six seasons because of just that, The Boobs, so it was only a matter of time before Heather “google search killing me softly” Graham joined the cast.
Heather Graham is set for a season-long arc on the upcoming seventh season of Showtime‘s Californication. Graham will play a woman from Hank’s past whose arrival upends his life. (Via)
Get rid of two letters in that last sentence and suddenly Californication is a must-watch show. Alas, we’ll have to settle for another season of consequence-free calamities, now with more Roller Girl. Speaking of people with small roles in the first Hangover film: Brody Stevens, you’re getting a Comedy Central show.
Comedy Central has ordered 12 episodes of Brody Stevens: Enjoy It!, a documentary-style series starring comedian Brody Stevens and executive produced by his close friend, Hangover star Zach Galifianakis. Described as Comedy Central’s first ever dramatic comedy series, Brody Stevens: Enjoy It! follows the emotional roller coaster life of stand-up comic Stevens as he pulls his life back together after suffering a mental breakdown that is witnessed by his fans and the world via Twitter. He makes the rounds in LA, with pal Galifianakis and others in tow, including Sarah Silverman, Tim Heidecker and Eric Wareheim, trying to reconnect and reconcile with the close friends he let down. Next up is Carrot Top in Hey, I Was in The Hangover, Too, coming this fall to TruTV.
