We are less than a month away from the season six premiere of AMC’s The Walking Dead. From what we learned at Comic-Con earlier this summer, it looks like the main conflict — at least in the first half of the season — will be between Rick and Morgan. However, since the Governor’s departure, there’s been a bit of a vacancy in the “big bad” department.
Mind you, this is a speculative rumor at this point, so try and take this news with a grain of salt… but the show’s villainous void may finally become filled as The Spoiling Dead shared this casting notice, which leads me to believe this “Orin” character may actually be Negan in disguise:
There have been a number of rumors regarding Negan’s appearance on the series, and with the addition of those questionable “Wolves” throughout last season, many have looked at them as the TV-equivalent of his horribly violent gang known as “The Saviors” in the comic book. It was just two weeks ago that an actor appeared on The Walking Dead set fitting the description of Paul “Jesus” Monroe from the comics. And diehard fans know that when Jesus comes, the Devil (ahem, Negan) is soon to follow.
If this rumor does turn out to be true, it looks like the Greg Nicotero-directed season finale will be setting up the most brutally intense storyline the series has seen yet. What actor is truly fit to play the “physically imposing, charismatic, brutal, smart, ferocious, frightening, hilarious, inappropriate, oddly friendly, fun-loving sociopath?” We’ll soon see, I suppose, as The Walking Dead will return to AMC on Sunday, October 11.
