WARNING: Spoilers for The Walking Dead midseason premiere and beyond will appear ahead. Watch yourself.
People seem to get a little upset when it comes to theories regarding The Walking Dead. They like to say they are stupid, foolish, or pointless for reasons that aren’t always entirely clear. It’s just harmless chatter at the end of the day and a good percentage turn out to be bull anyway.
Take the latest theory to pop up out of The Walking Dead midseason premiere. When Daryl decides to use that rocket on the Saviors, you get a split second glimpse of a car driving up in the background. If you missed it, here it is with commentary:

Now the original theory that you likely read here and a few other places hits on the possibility that Negan is in that car or it is somehow involved with The Saviors. It garnered enough attention that a (now) former member of the cast had to shoot down any real significance to the vehicle.
Christopher Berry, the lead Savior with the fun spirit and attitude, did a Reddit AMA and addressed this little bit from his point of view:
“Yeah, I read something about that earlier today. To be honest I have no clue.”
There we go! Concrete proof that it’s meaningless. Let’s all go back to sleep and wait for Sunday to come.
OK, so the car is likely nothing. I know my thoughts when I realized it was a thing online was to picture some poor bastard driving into the scene and seeing the explosion. Could be a fire crew, like someone in the comments mentioned. That’s a little silly given how far away it is, but it is in the realm of possibility with Negan or intentional spy. Another explanation is pizza guy, heading to the set to feed the crew. Gotta be horrifying to drive in and see that.
Berry’s AMA also talked a bit about his experiences on the set, including staring down Michael Cudlitz:
“Just being there was my favorite, as I’ve been a fan of the show since day one,” Berry says. “Standing toe to toe with Michael [Cudlitz] and delivering that ‘sh*t’ line was pretty fun, too, not gonna lie.”
Can’t beat that. The real magic is going to be when we find out his twin brother was the one driving the car. And he was delivering pizza.
