Tracy Morgan made a surprise appearance to present the final 2015 Emmy Award for Outstanding Drama Series (which was won by Game of Thrones). It was his first major awards show performance since the 2014 accident that nearly claimed his life and did claim to life of his close friend, James “Jimmy Mack” McNair. Morgan choked back tears as he told the audience, “I miss you guys so much,” recalling the previous year’s Emmy Awards ceremony when Jimmy Kimmel sent him a message that “we’ll see you back here next year, Tracy Morgan.”
Morgan attributed his recovery to his new wife and amazing doctors, recalling his traumatic injury. But soon after he reminded us that he’s still the same old Tracy Morgan we all know and love, quipping that since he’s just starting to feel like himself again, “a whole lot of y’all women are going to get pregnant at the after party.” We missed you too, Tracy. Good to have you back.
