Mad Men star and occasional Marvel ringer John Slattery stopped by Late Night with Seth Meyers on Wednesday night. The two recently spent time together in Iceland, where they and Fred Armisen filmed a show based on the 1922 documentary Nanook of the North. But enough about promotion — let’s talk about Tracy Morgan’s pet octopus.
The comedian apparently has a “dolphin-smart” pet octopus, and he loves it so much that he can’t help talking about it to just about anyone within earshot. Even if those people include old friends like Meyers (who’s heard it 15 times), airplane cabin mates like Slattery (who’d never heard it before), and fellow passengers like the unnamed stranger he was talking to.
Throw in Slattery’s decent impression of Morgan (in a weird, Tropic Thunder sort of way) and you’re bound to order your first pet octopus before the day is out. Doesn’t matter that the extremely intelligent (and super cute!) cephalopods can cost upwards of $1,000. I can live off of ramen noodles and peanut butter again.
