NBC might not be betting on success for their newest version of The Celebrity Apprentice with Arnold Schwarzenegger, because according to Deadline, NBC has decided to greenlight another business-related reality show starring Tyra Banks. It was announced earlier this year that Tyra would be one of the advisors for The Celebrity Apprentice, but we’re guessing NBC was so impressed with Banks’ business acumen and training techniques that they decided to just give her a show called Funded.
Funded (working title) will basically be just like ABC’s hit show Shark Tank, but with Tyra Banks, marketing ‘guru’ Rohan Oza, and MTV’s Rob Dyrdek. Tyra and the boys will act as mentors (Like on another NBC show) for a group of startup companies that are “the best and most promising new companies in the world.” Both Banks and Dyrdek will serve as executive producers. Banks told Deadline:
“I have spent my life encouraging people to BYOB — be your own boss. Making everyday people’s dreams come true is what I live for. Funded is the life-changing type of television power project that gets me pumped. We will enlighten and entertain audiences big time and encourage our viewers to attack their most outrageous goals with fierce determination.”
We’ll definitely tune in for Funded, but only if Tyra Banks does a few episodes in costume as the ‘Rebel Billionaire’ Richard Branson.
