Nate Bargatze is a comedian and actor probably best known for his appearances on Late Night with Conan O’Brien and the Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. He’s been lauded by Fallon, Marc Maron and Jim Gaffigan as one of the best up-and-coming comedians working today. His new standup special, Full Time Magic, debuts on Saturday, May 2 at midnight EST on Comedy Central.
Nate was nice enough to take a few minutes out of his busy schedule recently to answer a few questions from us.
1. You walk into a bar. What do you order from the bartender?
I ask what kind of beers they have. Bartender tells me, and I get flustered. Then, say I’ll just have a Bud Light.
2. Who’s your favorite person to follow on Twitter?
@Vandyfootball and anything else to do with Vanderbilt.
3. What’s currently waiting for you on your DVR/TiVO?
Survivorman Bigfoot and Dual Survivor. Also, Million Dollar Listing NYC.
4. It’s your last meal — what are you going out with?
McDonald’s. No. 1, no onions, Filet-O-Fish, and Spicy McChicken. Also, Diet Coke and chocolate milk shake.
5. What websites do you visit on a regular basis?
Uproxx, The Laugh Button, Splitsider, the Comics Comic, Laughspin and close it out with Vandy247.
6. What’s the most frequently played song on your mobile device?
“Blank Space” by Taylor Swift. Also, close second is “Welcome to New York” by Taylor Swift.
7. The first face that comes to mind when you think “punchable?”
My own.
8. What’s the last thing you googled?
Best proof of Bigfoot.
9. Dogs or cats?
Dogs
10. Best concert of your life was…?
Kid Rock in like ’98.
11. What book are you most likely to give as a gift?
12. What’s the nicest thing anyone has ever done for you?
My wife moving to New York and then L.A. for my comedy career.
13. South Park or Family Guy?
Family Guy.
14. You have an entire day to do whatever you want. What would you do?
Take my daughter to the zoo.
15. What movie can you not resist watching if it’s on?
The Departed.
16. The sports team or teams you’re most passionate about?
Vanderbilt Commodores. I’m way in. Love them and did not go there. Just a big fan.
17. Where did you eat the best meal of your life?
This seems weird, but there was a gas station outside of Knoxville, Tenn., and they had hot dogs that were the best things I’ve ever tasted. I’ll never forget them. The place is closed now.
18. The last movie you saw in a theater?
Hot Tub Time Machine 2.
19. Who was your first celebrity crush?
Jennifer Aniston.
20. What would you cook if Nic Cage was coming to your house for dinner?
Spaghetti. And then, throughout the night, keep apologizing for that being the only thing I know how to cook and saying how I wished he would of just let me take him out to eat.
