Outlander (Starz, Saturday 9:00 p.m.) — Season two of Outlander has seen our heroes traveling from Scotland to France and back again. In tonight’s 90-minute season finale, we’ll see Claire and Jamie make one last desperate attempt to prevent the Jacobite Rebellion and the certain slaughter of Highlanders at the Battle of Culloden, while in the future, Claire reveals the truth to her daughter Brianna.
The Night Of (HBO, Sunday 9:00 p.m.) — HBO’s highly-anticipated eight-part drama series that follows a murder case premieres tonight. In the opener, a Pakistani-American student faces his worst nightmare when he’s arrested for murder. This show has been getting some great reviews with critics calling it a groundbreaking anti-procedural that’s a much-needed win for the network that’s had some massive bombs lately (think Vinyl and True Detective season two). In other words, you should check it out.
U.S. Olympic Trials: Track and Field/ Women’s Gymnastics (NBC, Friday 8:00 p.m.) — More track and field qualifiers tonight in the 100m hurdles and the men’s discus and steeplechase. Later, the first day of the women’s gymnastic competition is here. By the end of this thing, we’ll have the five women and the alternates heading to Rio.
Killjoys (Syfy, Friday 9:00 p.m.) — D’avin is welcomed back on the team as the Killjoys return to Old Town to hunt eight escaped convicts on the tip of a company fixer who poses an even bigger threat to the group.
Dark Matter (Syfy, Friday 10:00 p.m.) — The team meets a new enemy in Commander Lee Shaddick, Chief Inspector of the Galactic Authority Serious Crimes Division. No one’s quite sure of her motives yet, but it’s safe to say she’s getting ready to make life pretty miserable for Raza’s crew.
Angel From Hell (CBS, Saturday 8:00/8:30 p.m.) — Allison’s anxiety grows as she considers re-entering the dating world, so Amy suggests she have a “fling” to help her gain some confidence. Later, Allison begins dating a new guy and Amy pushes them to have their first kiss.
Hell on Wheels (AMC, Saturday 10:00 p.m.) — Chang discovers Mei’s secret and forces her to flee Truckee as Cullen’s search for her forces him to confront his own demons.
The American West (AMC, Saturday 10:00 p.m.) — Sitting Bull and Crazy Horse come to a decision as Billy the Kid uses his gun-slinging talents to get what he wants, and Wyatt Earp fights for justice.
