Master of horror Wes Craven will partner with noted comic author Steve Niles (30 Days Of Night, Batman: Gotham County Line) to adapt his upcoming comic book The Disciples for television. THR reports Universal Cable Productions is in the process of acquiring the rights to the title, which hits shelves in May. All that’s known about the book is it’s “a sci-fi horror story set in space.”
Craven will neither write nor direct the series, but both he and Niles will serve as executive producers. That’s probably a good thing, considering Craven’s sparse record on the small screen. Other than Nightmare Cafe, the short-lived ’80s reboot of The Twilight Zone and his involvement in MTV’s still-hasn’t-happened-yet Scream adaptation, the famous writer and film director tends to stick to the big stuff.
