Empire (Fox, 9 p.m.) – The show’s taking the crazy up a notch (if that’s even possible) for tonight’s season two finale. Jamal puts the breaks on his music career until the violence that surrounds his family and their business ends. Elsewhere, the feds pressure Anika to testify against Lucious, and Cookie has a run in with her past at Hakeem and Laura’s wedding.
Modern Family (ABC, 9 p.m.) – In the season seven finale, Claire struggles with finding the right time to fire an employee (news flash, there’s never a “right” time). Meanwhile, Phil catches Luke in a compromising position; Jay considers coming out of retirement; Cam’s summer job in Kansas affects his relationship with Lily; and no one seems to care that poor Alex is home for the summer.
Royal Pains (USA, 10 p.m.) – Season eight premieres as Hanks treats a politician, Jeremiah struggles with coming back home, and Divya’s plans hit a roadblock.
Arrow (CW, 8 p.m.) – Oliver and Diggle rush to rescue Thea while Felicity, Curtis and Noah have their hands full trying to take down Darhk.
Heartbeat (NBC, 8 p.m.) – Here’s another show that will flat line soon, but just in case anyone’s still tuning in, tonight Alex tries to fulfill a dying heart patient’s final wish.
Rosewood (Fox, 8 p.m.) – A former flame of Rosewood’s asks for his help in locating a rich patient. Said patient’s disappearance leads to a bizarre murder investigation and forces Rosewood to take stock of his relationships with the opposite sex.
Survivor: Kaoh Rong – Brains vs. Brawn vs. Beauty (CBS, 8/10 p.m.) – The remaining castaways battle to win a game-changing reward challenge and must later face a jury to plead their case. Later, a winner is chosen.
The Middle (ABC, 8 p.m.) – Season seven ends with Frankie campaigning for Brick to sing at his school’s graduation after his performance is cut, Sue deciding whether to stay at Dollywood or attend her brother’s ceremony, and Axl getting off to a rough start at his new country club job.
The Goldbergs (ABC, 8:30 p.m.) – The season three finale sees Adam earning respect from the senior class at his school and Erica deciding what to leave behind in the time capsule her friends are planting.
Genius by Stephen Hawking (PBS, 9/10 p.m.) – If you want to get those neurons firing tonight tune into this series narrated by Stephen Hawking. The theoretical physicist is challenging us ordinary folks to answer some of humanity’s biggest questions. Up first: Is time travel actually possible? Later, we’ll ponder whether we’re really alone in the universe.
Law & Order: Special Victims Unit (NBC, 9 p.m.) – The SVU arrests a corrections officer accused of sexually assaulting female inmates but before they can book him, the suspect’s union targets the squad.
NBA Playoff: Game 2: Thunder at Warriors (TNT, 9 p.m.) – Oklahoma travels to the Golden State for Game 2 of the Western Conference Finals.
Supernatural (CW, 9 p.m.) – Rowena puts her plans into motion as Sam and Dean face a formidable enemy.
Maron (IFC, 9 p.m.) – Marc tries to hide his feelings for a fellow rehab patient.
Blackish (ABC, 9:30 p.m.) – Season two ends with Dre fallings asleep while watching a Good Times marathon and dreaming that his family has transformed into the characters from the show.
Chicago P.D. (NBC, 10 p.m.) – After last week’s trial and the revelation that Roman and Burgess are now romantically involved, Platt pleads with Crowley to let them remain partners. Elsewhere, Lindsay and Halstead help the lone survivor of a shooting and Antonio and Olinsky investigate a “self help” group.
Nashville (ABC, 10 p.m.) – Knowing that Nashville will soon be exiting stage left makes these remaining episodes a bit bitter sweet. Oh well, enough moping. There’s plenty of drama to keep us busy before bidding farewell to these country b*tches. Tonight, Elton John stops by to perform with Gunnar; Scarlett does some soul-searching; Rayna and Deacon reconsider their relationship; and Luke deals with a family emergency.
The Americans (FX, 10 p.m.) – Paige’s past resurfaces and threatens to destroy the family which forces her to reevaluate her relationship with her parents and causes chaos for Philip and Elizabeth.
The Last Panthers (Sundance, 10 p.m.) – The six-part miniseries ends as Naomi does her best to protect Milan who’s hell bent on revenge. Meanwhile, Mokhtar tries to make his brother realizes the consequences of his actions after the pair accidentally incite a gang war.
