The Bridge (FX, 10:00 p.m.) – Series premiere. As Dustin pointed out earlier, this show is getting excellent reviews, which shouldn’t be a huge surprise seeing as FX repeatedly knocks it out of the park. My expert advice is to get involved early and also try not to get murdered and dumped along the U.S./Mexico border.
Franklin & Bash (TNT, 9:00 p.m.) – Martin Starr guest stars as an actuary, but I want to talk about something else. On last week’s episode Heather Locklear’s character said something along the lines of “Who do I look like, Princess Khaleesi from House Targaryen?” Goddammit, Franklin & Bash. KHALEESI IS HER TITLE, NOT HER NAME. Saying “Princess Khaleesi” is like saying “Princess Queen” or “King Archduke.” First you 86 the hot tub, now this? WHY WON’T YOU LET ME LOVE YOU?
Camp (NBC, 9:00 p.m.) – Series premiere. Rachel Griffiths stars as a freshly divorced mom who is trying to keep the Little Otter Family Camp afloat. Remember Camp Nowhere? I loved that movie when I was a kid. Here ends my analysis of the NBC show Camp.
Futurama (Comedy Central, 10:00 p.m.) – From TV Guide: “Bender becomes a well-known firefighter, but his crew suspect he’s an arsonist.” Sounds about right.
LATE NIGHT LISTINGS: Kevin Nealon and Michael B. Jordan are on Kimmel; Salma Hayek and Tony Hale are on Letterman; Cedric the Entertainer is on Ferguson; John Malkovich and Olivia Munn are on Leno; Adam Sandler and Mirelle Enos are on Fallon; and Kevin Bacon and Charlie Hunnam are on Conan.
