Psych (USA) — Season 6 premiere. I’ve enjoyed Malcolm McDowell in so many things over the last couple years — “Franklin & Bash,” Easy A, “Metalocalypse,” even (sigh) “Entourage” — that it’s easy to forget that he was mutha-effin’ Alex in A Clockwork Orange. What a badass.
Work of Art: The Next Great Artist (Bravo) — Season premiere. Can we do away with unnecessary post-colon subtitles? I may be stupid, but I’m not so braindead that I need every facet of a show spelled out in the title. “We feel that ‘Work of Art’ doesn’t sufficiently explain that this is about works of art being created by people — artists, we call them — and that the winner will be the best ‘artist’ of those on the show. Perhaps even… the next great artist!”
Happy Endings (ABC) — Megan Mullally guest stars as Penny’s (Casey Wilson) upbeat mother.
America’s Next Top Model (CW) — The Kardashian sisters — Kim, Kourtney, and Khewbacca — make a vacant-eyed appearance to watch the contestants model, while LaToya Jackson (???) oversees a photo shoot.
Modern Family (ABC) — David Cross guest stars as a town councilman going up for reelection — against Claire (Julie Bowen). Me likey.
LATE NIGHT GUESTS: Bill Clinton on Letterman; Zooey Deschanel on Leno; Rob Lowe and Idris Elba on Kimmel; Jim Parsons on Ferguson; Alan Cumming and Michael Phelps on Fallon; Evan Rachel Wood on Chelsea; Stevn Ho and Michael C. Hall on Conan.
