What’s On Tonight: ‘BattleBots’ Returns And ‘Queen Of The South’ Premieres

Queen of the South (USA, 10 p.m.) – USA ventures into remake territory again with this drug-trafficking drama that was first a novel, then a popular telenovela. The premise: a young woman named Teresa falls in love with a member of a successful drug cartel. When her boyfriend is murdered, Teresa goes on the run, crossing the border into America and starting her own criminal empire in order to get her revenge. Think Lady Scarface mixed with some Goodfellas-style storytelling.

BattleBots (ABC, 8 p.m.) – Season two launches with 32 teams competing in three-minute matches  where they must destroy or disable each other’s tech.

Bones (Fox, 8 p.m.) – Cam clashes with her sister over wedding plans as the team investigates the murder of a billionaire explorer discovered in Antarctica 10 years after his murder.

WWE Smackdown (USA, 8 p.m.) – Seth Rollins is back people.

Beauty and the Beast (CW, 8 p.m.) – Vincent follows a new lead that puts his life in danger as Cat tries to figure out who’s after her husband, and if she’s pregnant with his baby.

Big Brother (CBS, 9 p.m.) – After introducing four veteran house members in last night’s premiere, tonight, Julie Chen serves up three more twists.

Spartan: Ultimate Team Challenge (NBC, 9 p.m.) – A runner with a prosthetic leg and a group of singles who met through a Spartan dating group (yes, that actually exists) compete for a spot in the finals.

Aquarius (NBC, 10 p.m.) – Kristin’s Black Panther movement causes problems between her and the hubby as Hodiak tries to defuse a riot and probe a murder in a black neighborhood on the day of Martin Luther King Jr.’s assassination.

Lip Sync Battle (Spike, 10/10:30 p.m.) – Undateable co-stars Chris D’Elia and Brent Morin battle it out for bragging rights. (That preview of D’Elia covering Demi Lovato has upped his chances already.)
