Thanksgiving Eve is widely considered one of — if not the — biggest drinking night of the year. You’re probably travelling home for the holiday and/or rehashing old high school/college stories with friends who have been littering your Facebook feed with ridiculous political memes and pictures of babies.
Television networks are aware of this, so most of your favorite shows are on hiatus for the week. But if you’re staying in, here’s what the tube has on tap.
Empire (FOX, 9:00 p.m.) — Series creator Lee Daniels pulls a Tarantino and guest stars in his own vehicle in an all new episode that also features Alicia Keys (!) and Rosie O’Donnell, who plays a former prison friend of Cookie and Candace’s named Pepper O’Leary (!!!).
Inside the Actors Studio (Bravo, 8:00 p.m.) — James Lipton since down with The One Who Knocks, Bryan Cranston to talk Breaking Bad, Malcolm in the Middle and, of course, his highly-anticipated new film, Trumbo.
The Making of The Wiz Live! (NBC, 8:00 p.m.) — The Wiz Live! is set to premiere next week, and this hour-long documentary gives people who are super amped about the forthcoming production a chance to grab a behind-the-scenes look at the production.
Code Black (CBS, 10:00 p.m.) — Speaking of theatrical productions, Angels Memorial gets a special patient when the lead actor of “The Lion King” production stops in to deal with an ailing throat and ends up with a potentially deadly diagnosis.
