Burger King is familiar with cheap marketing ploys, but one location’s Halloween marketing may have taken the cake. A Burger King in Queens, New York dressed itself up as the ghost of McDonald’s, taking trolling to the next level. We’re still a few days out from the holiday, but this Burger King may have won Halloween.
The burger chain kept it simple by putting a white tarp over its location and just writing McDonald’s on the outside. Confused customers shouldn’t be alarmed, though, as the location’s outside sign read: “BOOOOO! Just kidding, we still flame grill our burgers. Happy Halloween.” So any customers worried they weren’t going to get their Cheetos Chicken Fries needn’t worry.
People from around the world seemed to find the subtle dig at McDonald’s amusing:

Burger King further burned its rivals by dressing up some of their packaging with “McDonald’s” written in Sharpie on the top. This is not the first time Burger King has tried to troll McDonald’s, though, so the company’s had some practice. In 2015 BK tried to create the infamous McWhopper. But McDonald’s didn’t want to play ball.
This prank may not be as scary as black bun Whoppers, but the battle lines have been drawn. Your move, Ronald!
