John Wall (Photo. Kelly Kline)
With the summer evaluation period over HighSchoolHoop released their Top 25 player rankings. The list is a ranking regardless of class and after a few big names were quiet this summer, it was reflected on the list.
See HighSchoolHoop‘s Top 25 player rankings HERE.
Dont know many of these kids but i thought it is interesting UAB landed a top 5 player. Shows the big schools that they arent automatically gift wrapped all the best players which i like.
I’m better than John Walls
lol sike…does it say where he intends to go ?
UAB landed cousins bcuz he wanted to stay close to home and him and coach mike davis are supposed to be cool.
Aight help me out. There is not 1 7 footer on the list that I saw. Is the era of a legit 7 footer who can ball really faded away that much, that we don’t even have great prospects? Wow. Sad.
Looks like 7 footers might be coming from overseas now, cause in the U.S. it’s looking rough.
hopefully bc gets someone nice
Yea GEE, I think those days are over. It’s something in the water today that kids just aren’t growing like they used to height wise. If they do get to 7-feet they can’t walk and chew gum at the same time.
@ Sam I Am
Word on the street is that Wall is seriously considering Baylor. They recently hired his AAU coach to their staff. He is considering Memphis, Kentucky and Kansas.
most young 7 footers have a hard time walking and chewing gum at the same time. Big kids take a while to grow into themselves, get over being so clumsy. A lot of those kids got time to grow.
What happened over the summer between Gaddy and Bradley? I thought they’d been running over people, together, for a long time. Why the switch up? Bradley looking for his own shine? Weren’t they supposed to go to college together, too?
And those U-18 jerseys are nice.
Nothing to do with this post but just out:
Donnie Walsh told the New York Times that talks with the Memphis Grizzlies about a trade for Zach Randolph have been dormant for weeks.
“There was a discussion about different formats, and it never got anywhere,” Walsh said Monday.
“It was a conversation I had with these guys a month ago,” Walsh said. “We haven’t talked recently. For some reason, it was in the Memphis press and everyone in New York acts like it’s imminent.”
Asked if a trade with the Grizzlies is still possible, Walsh said, “I can’t say anything is over,” but he said no proposal is on the table.
It may therefore be likely that the Knicks will not make any major roster changes before training camp opens in October. “I’ll be fine with that,” Walsh said. “I want to see a lot of the players play and see what it would take to come together as a team. But that doesn’t mean that I won’t be talking for the next three weeks.”
Most of these kids are 15-17 years old. They may still grow a few more inches by the time they enter the League if they’re lucky enough to make it. Also there might be taller players that might emerge in college or Europe that just don’t have the hype associated with them at this point.
@GEE — So basically Roy Hibbert is the last great American 7-footer. I can live with that.
Man you talk about 7 footers like they’re the norm and ppl are bigger today than ever, drink better water. lol.
Apparently John Wall shows interest in Baylor
AB you know I can lol. I hope he shocks people a little bit in the L fa real, because I think he has more potential than folks give dude credit for. The Big Stiff is still a messed up nickname…unless you are in porn.
Hey AB I am sure you are aware of how during the summers all the G-town big men would get together and work on their game going against each other and what not.
Imagine now. Deke, Mourning, Ewing, Roy, Othella and you can throw Jeff, J.Y.D. and Iverson in if they was to join the party. Has to be some physical games right there boy! I bet dudes would be leavin bruised up!
THANK U DIME! It’s about time you guys (Austin Burton especially) acknowledge the fact that John Wall is better than Lance Stephenson.
Why me especially?
if they matched up lance would slaughter john wall. he is no where near strong enough to deal with lance. wall is a better team player that’s all.
LOL @ the especially call out.
Imma do that. Just be in a group debatin or arguin on some junk and then fine a dude who ain’t go nothing to do with it and be like “See you all know I’m right and you especially!”
LOL you know he gone have that W.T.F. face like what I do?
@GEE — It’s like in “The Program” when Alvin Mack would start accusing a random player on the other team of messing with his family, and the dude’s like, “Dude, I don’t even know you!”
Yea lol. Crazy. Imma do it though. Too funny.
AB off topic but CGF said yall he would put yalls office squad against any North American office squad out there. You feelin the same.
Like who is yalls startin 5 and who plays what position? I used to ball at my old job with co-workers and that was tight. Nothing like droppin an ill shot on a co-worker you don’t care for lol.
We’d be VERY good (no thanks to me). I’ll break it down:
* CGF is a slasher who’s jumper isn’t exactly money but he’ll grab 10 boards a game from the two-guard spot. He played college ball.
* LeKeith is a Garnett-ish big man (by pickup standards, as in he’s like 6-6) who blocks shots but can also bring the ball up. He played college ball.
* Pat Cassidy will shoot your face off.
* Andrew Katz is a hustler/rebounder with some O game, kinda like his idol Hansbrough. He played college baseball (and SLAMBALL), so he’s an athlete.
* J-Burke is like Bosh; big man with a nice lefty jumper who can be dominant. I wanna say he played college ball, but I’m not 100% sure.
* Josh has, to use a football term, a “motor.” I don’t think he ever gets tired. He’s like a small two-guard who specializes in D but has a three-pointer. He’ll hate this, but he’s kinda like Nate Robinson. College baseball player.
* Jed thinks he’s Anthony Mason, an undersized 4-man with a handle.
* Naomi played HS ball and her mid-range J is lethal.
* Clare played HS ball and her PG game is nice. And she can rebound for her position.
* Kyle played small-college football. He’s short but he’s tough and knows the game.
* And our man Sean Couch from the Bounce family, he was a third-round NBA draft pick in 1987. ‘Nuff said.
* Plus we can take Bobbito on our squad, and you know his credentials.
Oops, I forgot a couple:
* Justin played PG at a small college. When he’s in shape he’ll give you an easy 30 and you won’t pick his handle.
* Me? I like to pretend I’m Bruce Bowen. My corner three is somewhat reliable and I’ll D (or foul) you up, but you don’t want me dribbling the ball at all. Ever. I’ve started to develop a nice little turnaround J and a floater, but I don’t get/want the ball enough to use it.
Dang yall got depth. That is tight though. I would love to be back ballin everyday with my old co-workers. Still I gets it in weekly with some cats I know.
Didn’t know PC was like THAT?
CGF seem from various photos (cept that last one) like he can ball.
Figured Andy had work cause of Slamball.
AB I thought you was like Bruce Bowen or something?
Most def. didn’t know Naomi balled? I got a niece named Naomi who can ball so perhaps its the name.
Who is Clare? Most all them other names I heard in various Dime spots but not Clare.
Gotta be nice to have DJ Cucumber Slice on ya side.
Preshate the 411 AB, cool of you to run the credentials. If I ever switch jobs and get a crew, we all will have to go at it.
Right now it’s just GEE.
Defensively will lock any position down 1-4 (sometimes 5). Rebounds well. Offensively can create my own shot, the thing is you have to really pray it goes in once released lol.
In the Imaginary Office Tournament That Will Never Happen, we would crush anyone in the magazine world, I’m confident about that. Our competition would be no competition.
Now if you’re talking about other offices around the country, I’d have to imagine Nike, adidas, the NBA, etc., have some former pros/college guys balling for them that could be tough.
Yea ESPN might give yall some comp. too. Would be interesting though.
Yall got swagger I’ll give yall that!
And yea I’ll put my dollas on Dime against any other mag. companies.
That would be to tight to work with former players of the L. I would prolly get fired for just trying to pick their brain everyday of what this or that was like.
Workin in a women dominated field aint all bad for other circumstances though. Just miss ballin err day!
