‘The Lonely Island’ Is Coming To The Big Screen In A Judd Apatow Production

If your life has felt somewhat emptier since Saturday Night Live’s Digital Shorts left the show with Andy Samberg in 2012, then you really need to reconsider your priorities and maybe get a hobby. But you’re also about to be significantly happier with the news that Andy Samberg, Jorma Taccone and Akiva Schaffer, AKA The Lonely Island, are bringing the musical comedy style that put them on the YouTube map with hits like “Nintendo Cartoon Hour” and “Just 2 Guyz” to the big screen. Even better, it’s being produced by Judd Apatow, so there’s a good chance that this movie could feel like it’s four hours long.

According to Deadline, the plot is known only to the men of The Lonely Island, but it’s hard to believe that the cast won’t be littered with A-list guests from Justin Timberlake to Jon Hamm, and just about every Digital Short co-star in between. Taccone and Schaffer will handle the directing duties while Samberg will presumably play the lead character, who says a lot of goofy things in between making funny faces, and we will probably love every second of it because we’re all joyful idiots.

OMG look how young they looked in 2005! And remember the old Nintendo? Here’s a classic spin on those lousy old graphics from games that we still love.
