As somebody who can’t climb a stepladder without breaking into a sweat, skydiving has always seemed, well, pretty f–king insane to me, but it could be worse — you could jump without the parachute. That’s exactly what Gary Connery of England did when he recently became the first man to intentionally leap thousands of feet without a chute and land safely.
Gary jumped out of a helicopter cruising at 2,400 feet, glided down to earth using a wing suit then crashed into giant pile of 18,600 cardboard boxes. I’d say he’s Batman, but even Batman wouldn’t attempt that s–t. Gary had this to say about his landing…
“It was so comfortable, so soft. My calculations obviously worked out and I’m glad they did.”
Yeah, okay Gary, you’re a badass, and I get vertigo changing a light bulb — stop rubbing it in. You can check out video of Gary Connery’s jump after the uh, jump…
Okay, well, after watching that I now have to go throw up.
