Conor McGregor (a.k.a. Mystic Mac) has never been shy about engaging in trash talk. Heck, this week has featured the UFC Featherweight Champion talking sh*t in the direction of clowns, Floyd Mayweather and the Nevada State Athletic Commission for starters. Interestingly enough, he’s also using his mouth to provide some advice to fellow UFC megastar Ronda Rousey to help establish something you might not associate with McGregor: Silence.

Chatting with Sports Illustrated, the Irish prizefighter addressed Rousey’s upcoming UFC 207 return. In McGregor’s view there’s one key piece of advice he thinks Rousey would find useful.

“I’d tell her to go shut them all up now,” McGregor told SI by phone. “Shut them all up. Go and stake your claim again.”

“I wish Ronda nothing but the best, it’s good to see her back,” he continued. “Some people take defeat and losses a certain way. You see how some fighters take losses. I’m happy she is ready to go again and I wish her well.”

McGregor can certainly understand what it’s like to be a colossal MMA draw and suffer a mystique damaging loss. Of course, McGregor bounced back with a win at UFC 202 and he thinks Rousey can in her fight.

“Go and shut these people up now,” stressed McGregor. “Go and get what you began back. I’m excited to see how it unfolds.”

According to Dana White, Rousey has been upset with how the media responded to her loss, which seems to pair nicely with a “shut them all up” narrative.

Speaking of McGregor (and it seems like we always are) he will be headlining next month’s historic UFC 205 card in Madison Square Garden. He’ll be aiming to snatch the Lightweight gold from Eddie Alvarez on a night that might outdo UFC 200 for star power. Just saying.
