‘Joe Dirt 2’ Is Still Happening, Now With A New Title And A Familiar Wig

We brought word that Joe Dirt was returning last month, probably fooling some of you into thinking it was some sort of fantasy despite it being very real. Today we can bring you further proof of David Spade’s return to the mullet with this update from Adam Sandler’s Facebook page:

JOE DIRT 2: Beautiful Loser filming in November #dang

That’s right, the wig is back and it’s bringing a new subtitle with it. I guess Joe Dirt 2 just didn’t work by itself and we needed to ensure that people knew there was more story to tell here. If you forgot what to expect, here’s a little refresher:

“I’m beyond stoked that Joe Dirt will finally hit the screens again on Crackle. I’ve been sleeping in this wig for years and it will be nice to wear it in the daytime again.”

“David Spade had a fresh and unique vision for Joe Dirt 2 that he could have brought anywhere and we couldn’t be happier that he brought it to Crackle for a first-of-its-kind, worldwide release,” said Eric Berger, Crackle GM and Sony EVP Digital Networks. “The original film has been a longtime viewer favorite, ranking among the most viewed in our library, and we decided to produce and distribute the sequel as a feature for fans everywhere.” (Via)

I think I can honestly say that I don’t knew where they could go with a new Joe Dirt movie, at least enough to make me want to see it. Luckily it’ll be on Crackle and that means it’ll be free to watch, risk free. All I’ll lose is the time.

UPDATE:
As the honorable Ronald Mexico pointed out in the comments and I had totally forgotten, Joe Dirt actually got a new wig at the end of the original movie. So what the hell, Happy Madison? Are you not even keeping up with the Joe Dirt-lore for this sequel? Is this not canon? Are you pulling a Star Wars and slashing everything we grew to love? Boo. This. Movie…
