The final Huger Games panel at Comic-Con has wrapped up, and The Hunger Games: Mockingjay, Part 2 will be in theaters this fall. Lionsgate will finally bring their money-printing franchise to a close, or so we all thought. Josh Hutcherson seemed to have misspoke about the potential for more movies while playing around with Jennifer Lawrence and Liam Hemsworth on Conan.
When the cast was asked about sequel and prequel possibilities, Peeta started up with, “There is… oh, I can’t say that. Sorry. We’ll see what happens.” Everyone tried to play if off, but Conan had to note how fake the backtracking sounded. Even if that was just a well played bit, it seems hard to believe someone at Lionsgate isn’t figuring out a way to keep that Katniss money coming in.
