It’s no question that Idris Elba is one cool cat. From breaking land-speed records to being the first male to ever grace the cover of Maxim, the man has had a pretty great year. Not withstanding, of course, those constant James Bond rumors. While some out there believe the actor to be “too street” for the role — hey, Daniel Craig was once considered too weird looking for the role! — Elba has handled it all in stride. Whether Craig has another Bond movie in him, remains to be seen. But if SPECTRE really is his last outing as 007, maybe it’s time to show the world what Mr. Elba would look like in the role.
The folks over at Vulture took it upon themselves to make what looks more like a pitch video than your run of the mill internet mashup. In this latest Vulture Remix, video magicians Diane Bullock and Mike Schuster cut together an updated trailer for Bond 24 and replaced our current hero with the most buzzed about possibility out there right now. On top of that consistently awesome SPECTRE trailer, the above clip features footage from BBC’s Luther, The Gunman and a Jaguar commercial. Really, though, if this doesn’t convince the masses, I don’t know what will.
