Netflix Reveals New Photos From Marvel’s ‘Iron Fist’ Featuring Colleen And Claire

Marvel’s Iron Fist is set to debut on Netflix March 17, 2017 as the network’s follow-up to Luke Cage. Today the streaming service released brand new photos of Finn Jones’ Danny Rand, Jessica Henwick’s Colleen Wing, Rosario Dawson’s Claire Temple and more.

We got our first teaser for the series out of Comic-Con this summer and later a longer teaser thanks to New York Comic Con. Here’s the official summary”

Fifteen years after being presumed dead in a plane crash, Danny Rand (Finn Jones) mysteriously returns to New York City determined to reclaim his birthright and family company. However, when a long-destined enemy rises in New York, this living weapon is forced to choose between his family’s legacy and his duties as the Iron Fist.

At NYCC Jones came out on stage with his fellow Defenders – Charlie Cox, Krysten Ritter, Mike Colter – to introduce their upcoming villain, set to be played by the tremendous Sigourney Weaver. We’re still a ways off from seeing them team up but Iron Fist has his own friends along for the ride.

Wing and Dawson are featured in these new images which also include what looks like Danny’s training. But we also get our first look at Jessica Stroup’s Joy Meachum and Tom Pelphrey’s Ward Meachum, members of a family with close ties to Danny.

It’s probably not the reaction they were going for but I couldn’t help but laugh at a couple of these. I’ve expressed my disappointment in the casting of Jones in the lead role before. I think he’s a perfectly fine actor but it was a missed opportunity to do something different, especially in light of the Doctor Strange Ancient One controversy.

I really appreciated the background reactions of these two shots in particular. The background actor looks like he’s stifling a laugh and Claire is wondering why she and Colleen don’t have their own show already.
