Game of Thrones has been missing some mojo ever since Pedro Pascal’s Oberyn Martell was killed off in one of the most gruesome deaths in the show’s history. In just a single season, Pascal brought pathos and sex appeal in spades. Since then, he’s been fairly prolific, most notably in Netflix’s Narcos. He seems poised to make the jump to the big screen, as he’s just been cast in Kingsman 2, which is shaping up to be one of the most anticipated films of summer 2017. Time to break out those House Martell t-shirts you’ve been too sad to wear since his demise!
On top of reports that Colin Firth’s Harry Hart may be less dead than previously believed, Pascal joins the cast as Jack Daniels, a “swaggering, sharpshooting cowboy” and an agent who will be working closely alongside Halle Berry. Berry will be playing the head of Kingsman’s American counterparts, Statesmen. Something tells me that Daniels and Taron Egerton’s Eggsy will butt heads over misplaced machismo before uniting with the common cause to defeat Julianne Moore’s villain, Poppy. Or he’ll be a double agent. Just a hunch.
Either way, fans have been given yet another reason to be excited about Kingsman 2: The Golden Circle.
