G-Eazy Gets Animated For The ‘Sad Boy’ Video

Contributing Writer

Oakland, California, native G-Eazy launched himself into a new stratosphere this year with his newest album When It’s Dark Out (stream it here). His sophomore effort debuted at No. 5 on Billboard’s Hot 200 chart making it his second album to chart in the top five and it sold a whopping 135,000 copies in its first week.

Like basically every artist before him, Gerald is finding out that fame isn’t all it’s cracked up to be, a major theme of the album, and that peril is depicted beautifully in the video for“Sad Boy.” Illustrated by Joonbug and animated by Applebutter Animated, the black and white video fits the feel of the song perfectly, and gives visuals to the struggle G-Eazy is having with his newfound fame and the tribulations of actual real life outside of that bubble.
