Watch A CNN Panel Descend Into A Shout-Filled Mess Over Donald Trump’s Health

This is what U.S. politics has come to, folks, and this CNN video (courtesy of Mediaite) progressively builds before hitting “shouty match” mode after the 2:55 minute mark. The rest is worth watching, if you care to rewind, because Christine Quinn and Jeffrey Lord get into it somewhat — Quinn wanted the rest of the room to understand why Hillary Clinton was being held to a different standard than Donald Trump — but the stars of this mess are ex-Trump Campaign Manager Corey Lewandowski and ex-Trump ghostwriter Tony Schwartz. The two grew combative over Trump’s health and tax returns.

The host who’s suck in the middle would be Anderson Cooper, fresh off challenging Hillary Clinton’s lack of transparency over her “overheating” incident. Cooper was expected to do so — because the campaign did drop some balls — but that doesn’t change how Clinton’s always faced with harder-hitting questions than Donald Trump. This is a chronic issue, and Schwartz tries to correct it somewhat, if only because he can’t take Trump or his sketchy doctor seriously.

Of course, this isn’t the first grumpy cable discussion over candidate health, and it may not be the last. But Lewandowski and Schwartz locked horns over who could best judge Trump’s fitness. They both start shouting, and Schwartz scores some points for working “cockamamie doctor” and “apotheosis of transparency” into the same breath, but Lewandowski “wins” the argument because he’s hung out with Trump this year and can gesticulate a little more wildly than his rival.

The video perfectly illustrates the entire aura of this election season. As does Cooper’s amused expression about halfway through this farce.
