Brock Lesnar Says He Doesn’t Know Where His UFC Belts Are

It seems like the more honest an MMA fighter is, the more popular he is as well. The Diaz brothers, Ronda Rousey, Conor McGregor — all big names, and all of them are painfully honest. People may not like what they say, as it doesn’t fit their narrative of what a popular athlete should be, but you can’t say they aren’t honest. And the more honest a fighter gets, the more fans talk, and then buy rates go up. Brock Lesnar was the epitome of honest when he was in the Octagon, and he was also one of the biggest UFC stars in history. Who can forget his infamous rant at UFC 100:

Now he’s back in headlines, and it’s for the same viking-like reasons — Brock marches to the beat of his own drum, and he probably wouldn’t beat that drum with the skulls of his fallen enemies because trophies are pointless to him. It’s all about the numbers in his bank account.

“I guess people have their way of remembering what I did. I’m not about accomplishments. I don’t have a trophy room. I don’t have any symbolic things. I’m not a sentimental guy. I couldn’t even tell you where my UFC titles are or my WWE championships or my NCAA plaque, my heavyweight plaque. I don’t even now where that is right now. But I do know one thing — how much money’s in my bank account.”

Brock’s feelings pretty much echo the current vibe of UFC fighters — the belt doesn’t matter as much as the big paychecks. Could that become an issue?
