UPROXX Discussion: Besides 9/11, What Other Things Do You Wish Mark Wahlberg Would Have Prevented?

By / 01.18.12

One of the gripes I have with life in the modern world is that celebrities are often too protected by armies of handlers for the stupendously dumb things many of them say and think to be allowed to trickle out into the world. Sure, Twitter has helped to crack open the door to the treasure trove of celebrity stupidity that exists out there, but even that has been cracked down upon by the folks paid to mold celebrity image and perception (See Ashton Kutcher’s PR team taking over his account as an example).

But every now and then a nice, shiny rhetorical turd will flow from a celebrity’s lips and escape the impenetrable bubble of insulation many of them exist in. Such is the case today with Mark Wahlberg, who wants to let it be known that if he were on a plane on 9/11, he would have acted a whole lot differently than those quivering little Marys who couldn’t save themselves after they were unfortunate enough to book the wrong flights that dreadful day. No, the artist formerly known as Marky Mark would have killed the terrorists, and then landed the plane safely, just like a hero in a movie!

“If I was on that plane with my kids, it wouldn’t have went down like it did. There would have been a lot of blood in that first-class cabin and then me saying, ‘OK, we’re going to land somewhere safely, don’t worry.’”

You see, where Gwyneth Paltrow only saved a life on 9/11, Mark Wahlberg would have saved ALL OF THE LIVES!

So the question of the day, dear UPROXX reader, is this: What other events/happenings do you wish Mark Wahlberg would have prevented? Let the Entourage jokes flow through the comment thread like cheap wine!
