This Tinder Lady Was Written Off After One Date, And She Went Ballistic In Response

Online dating access should arrive with several provisos. The most important thing to remember is that anyone can (and often will) date several people at once until they settle upon “the one.” Actually, lots of users date around with no intention of ever settling down, so it’s ridiculous to get one’s hopes up while swiping right. Certain dating services bill themselves upon setting up more romantic success than others, but Tinder is not one of those sites (except in retrospect).

One user found out about differing expectations in a difficult way. He popped out for a simple afternoon meetup with a lady, who expected a relationship after one date. Yes, it’s easy to assume he was trashing her to make himself look studly and irresistible, but this woman’s responses jump into extreme territory. To hear the guy tell it, he was “messing around on Tinder” as a distraction from work. He wasn’t looking for a commitment, although it sounds like he wasn’t out to womanize either. He observed some initially prickly behavior after not returning texts while he was asleep, but he enjoyed a few drinks with a girl, and she expected much more. Here’s his take on the matter:

A quick goodbye kiss on the sidewalk at the end, but nothing more. She started texting afterwards, and — apparently — wasn’t pleased with the speed of some of my responses. (Was a busy weekend.) After a couple of further chasing texts, it was clear to me that this wasn’t going to work. (Insecurity, for me, is THE deal-breaker.) But we’d had a nice time, and she seemed like a nice woman, so I decided to send her a message explaining that I didn’t think it was going to work and wishing her the best. The next morning, I woke up to this absolutely epic text rant. I’m not a big online sharer, but this was enough to jolt me out of my years of lurkerhood. I knew you guys would appreciate the legendary craziness.

When this guy says this girl went overboard, he isn’t kidding. She took the rejection personally as many online daters tend to do, and her response confirmed this guy’s initial suspicions. She continued to text for about 24 hours, and here is the final product of her fury:

Yeah, she seems like a nice lady. Sooner or later, she’ll find a match.
