Normally, using Snapchat won’t result in any sort of real harm towards the end user or anyone around them. That is normal usage, though. Essentially, as long as you are using Snapchat like a normal human being everything should work out just fine. If you are of the opinion that certain features of the popular app require you to do something downright insane, well, I don’t know. Maybe you’ll get a Darwin Award?

Snapchat has a feature that tracks a user’s speed and one user got a bright idea. There’s always a bright idea in these stories, isn’t there? According to CNBC, a woman in Georgia decided to take a photo of herself driving at high speeds while using said Snapchat feature before reaching speeds over 100 miles per hour when she rammed into an Uber driver that resulted in basically ruining this dude’s life. That’s probably not a great usage of Snapchat.

Maynard, who was just starting his shift as an Uber driver, suffered a severe traumatic brain injury. He spent five weeks in a hospital intensive care unit after the crash, lost 50 pounds, and can no longer work, much less take care of himself, Neff said.

The lawsuit filed on behalf of this poor guy alleges that the Snapchat feature was dangerous from the start and really, what was going to happen with such a feature? Of course people were gonna use said feature while driving at crazy speeds. Don’t worry, though, of course the crazed Snapchat driver took a photo after the crash to show that she was alright. Of course.
